The benefits of AI are not limited to making better use of time. Ametro’s CEO, Ville Haataja, points out that the software has cut the company’s carbon footprint too.
Our collaboration started with understanding the business needs
Being a nimble outfit let us build Ametro a recommendation algorithm of its own, based on AI.
— Dynamik
We know from experience that regular home cleaning is a personal service, and that long-standing customer relationships matter above all else. So optimising the cleaners’ calendars had to weigh more than kilometres and hours: it had to keep visits on their regular rhythm and keep customer relationships intact.
The AI’s job was to comb the calendars for permanent changes to recurring cleaning jobs, so that schedules could be optimised step by step and unnecessary driving between sites could fall away. Dynamik Allocator’s AI brought route and schedule planning together, so that every customer can be given the best possible cleaning slot and a cleaning pair of their own that stays the same.
A company the size of Ametro also takes on several new customers a week, and each one needs the best possible cleaning slot — one that fits the customer’s wishes, the cleaners’ calendars and where the other jobs of the day are. Together with Ametro we built a solution in which Allocator’s AI weighs the customer’s preferences against the resources available and suggests the best slot and the best pair to the customer service agent in real time.
Dynamik’s own customer service earns praise from Ametro too. Regular meetings give the Ametro team a direct line to the people who maintain the system, for wishes and ideas alike, and Dynamik’s technical support is quick to respond to comments and requests for help.
People are the industry’s biggest competitive edge
Our people have a sunny, hard-working attitude to what they do. Our customers give us a lot of praise for it.
— Ville Haataja, Ametro
Ametro, a cleaning company 15 years into business in the Helsinki metropolitan area, is known above all for its sunny staff, its customer service and the high quality of its work. The skilled team is made up largely of people who came from the Philippines and whom Ametro recruited and trained itself.
Ametro’s work centres on domestic cleaning, and the company’s service area covers the whole of Uusimaa. That adds up to thousands of kilometres driven every day. The company needed a way to make the moves between jobs run as smoothly as possible and to cut unnecessary kilometres to a minimum. It found the answer in Dynamik’s AI-based Allocator software, which now schedules the work of the cleaning teams.
